currently listening to: hot mess - cobra starship
i haven't posted a real post in such a long time so i promised myself i wouldn't do anything on the computer until i do. so here goes.
upcat experience - what can i say? it isn't even over yet. there's still the results part which won't come until february 2010. i'll comment about it then. it's too soon to tell how i feel about the whole thing. obviously, i really don't want to have evidence of my thoughts when the results don't turn out like i want them to. risky business.
mrs. cory aquino's passing - check out the pinoy tumblrs out there. i pretty much share their sentiments. as a matter of fact, i share the general population's sentiments. no futher explanation needed.
TLE cooking - it was really fun and it was the first time i was totally at ease in the cooking room. i had a lot of fun with my groupmates. ms. paragas said that our pork steak was delicious. however, when she gave us our grade earlier today, we only got a 93. hmph. so much for having a "masarap" dish. i was really expecting that we'd get a 95 or something.
saturday classes - it was the first time, in a long time, that i got to school really early. that is attributed to the absence of the grade school busmates. the day consisted of 3 periods of economics and a whole lot of other things. it really didn't feel like a half day. what with the amount of info we had to take in.
exams - can't comment on this yet either since not all of the results are out yet. i generally felt good about most of it. which probably means i'm just setting myself up for disappointment.
acet application - my mom submitted my acet app last week. i feel really bad that i put it off for such a long time. the essay was the only thing holding me back. this just goes to show that one of the most effective motivators is time pressure. my sister and my mom read the essay and commented and edited. gawd. i hope they read it now. i poured my heart and soul into that thing. yeah, that's right.
birthday celebration - celebrated it yesterday with the group. just the same old thing at yellow cab. watched the big bang theory with sam over at her place. good sitcom. if i ever get a chance to celebrate halloween, i will totally wear the doppler effect for a costume. but only if there are judges and a prize. haha!
anyway, i hope you're caught up with my life now. it's pretty boring and pretty sad. oh yeah, we had our computer exam earlier today. i think i got everthing done. best exam evaaaarr!
btw, i totally need to change this layout. everyone's on tumblr now. blogger forever! haha!

about time
Thursday, April 10, 2008 9:35 PM
after weeks of speculation, the three stooges finally hung out!
it didn't take long to get organized. finally, everyone just dropped their various concerns and let loose. we hung out at daryll's house. getting there was very annoying. manila is so congested with traffic. and i had the bad luck of having a driver who is so calm and not at all hurried even if i was shooting him my most evil glares. needless to say, i got there and the good times began. belay, daryll, and i took a tricycle to their house from mcdo retiro (which is under renovation at the moment. mcdo, not their house).
everything was going normally, but an addition to our group was daryll's brother, darwin. he's very much like daryll, only in the 'little brother' form. he ended up joining us with playing around in the computer, playing cards, listening to the jonas brothers, and making cookies. if i were in his place, i would have seriously stayed upstairs and i would not have joined in the affairs of my older sister. i guess that's the difference between their sibling-to-sibling relationship and mine.
daryll ordered pizza and we pigged out. we also made cookies. darwin called them the 'mutant cookies. or was it 'mutilated'? i forget. definitely something to that effect. the cookies were good. i would say that they were definitely undercooked, but it still tasted fabulous.
we also played lots of 'Super Text Twist'. daryll was really good at guessing the longest word...
***WHAT? Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are engaged! officially! i can't believe it! i didn't think they were the marrying type. somehow, i still see ashlee simpson as a teenager. i guess i missed the fact that she's 22 now. wow. this is news to me.***
ok, back to MY life. we reached up to level 40 with 120,000++ points. we rule at that game. mostly daryll, but it's really a group effort :D we also watched lots of daryll's "movies" made with Windows Movie Maker. she's really taking that stuff seriously. belay and i also got a pretty good idea of how much daryll likes the jonas brothers. she's downloaded virtually all of the songs the jonas brothers ever made. she even has a little backstory for every song. total addict. probably more than me when i was addicted to fall out boy. we layed lots of card games with their bow wow cards. i lost a lot so that just goes to show how terrible i am at cards.
it was fun day. i love that i got to see the two of them again. it's been too long, dahhlings.
next up: belay's house!

dancepro difficulties
Thursday, October 25, 2007 6:05 PM
our dance is so far from winning. that is the sad fact. during the year-level practice, we totally failed and didn't do anything for the last minute. a lot of us cried, but i was always just on the verge of tears. i stopped myself from crying because, i needed a clear head and a running nose just doesn't cut it.after the crying session, we headed for gate 3 and got our act together. we were able to finish it in till the very last guitar riff (well, at that), and we were really pleased about that. ecstatic, actually. why wouldn't we be? we've been toiling for every hour we can. but when the time came for the general rehearsals, we did ok but the end was still shaky.
when i got on the school bus and became exposed to the different comments, one thing was certain. no one expected us to win. a third-year busmate of mine said the nice dances in 2nd year were the fans, the malongs, the green panyos and the palayok. no mention of the tutup, or the nails. i was insulted of course because i was just right there. there's no point in sharing this piece of information to my classmates. why dampen their spirits? we definitely set our sights low enough already. no more winning, just getting a fair grade. nothing compared to last year, surely. at least then, we had a clear chance of winning. and now, we are so far away from that. anyway, there's no one to tell this to, so i'm writing it here. greaaaaat.

me again
Sunday, September 30, 2007 6:18 PM
i guess you can say i haven't posted in a while. it feels like a month almost, since i last posted. i've spent the whole afternoon in front of the computer screen so my head is starting to ache now. but it is also because of spending so much time on the net that has rekindled my want to blog. i ask you, how can i think about blogging when there are projects to be made everywhere i turn? there just hasn't been any time to think about the day's events and let out my feelings (haha. inside joke). according to my last post, i've been telling you about the getting of cards and the decorations for the parent-daughter bonding. well, the PDB is over. i must say, i wasn't happy at all about how the decorations turned out. no offense to those who were part of the team, but it just looked really tacky. it was not how i imagined it to be at all. blame the lack of ribbon available. that and the fact that i never expected ribbon to be so pricey. so yes, i am at fault. should have used crepe paper instead, oh well. we are an NPO. let me get my calendar to speed you up on things. it has been really useful and reliable so far.
september 15 was when mikka, daryll and lourdes came to my house to do the decortions. it was fun but involved lots of work. we ended up working until 11 in the evening, and we weren't even finished! that must be because we spent lotsa time in national bookstore shopping for materials. we even saw pat evangelista there. daryll got her autograph! that was so insane. truth be told, she's not that big of a celebrity. but hey, a celebrity's a celebrity. daryll had her sign on my 1/2 lengthwise. talk about high school life. things went kinda crazy from there.
i was stressing all next week (after sept 15) because i still didn't have FOB tickets and it was days away. training sort of prevented me from taking a jeepney ride to cubao and getting tickets. another thing that has been clawing at me was that belay still refused to go. i wanted her there but i don't think that the feeling is mutual. her parents being out of town didn't help either. but after lots of sleepless nights worrying about it, my mom finally stepped in and bought mikka and i two awesome tickets, on the day of the concert. insane, right? i can't believe i put it off for so long. but thank heavens that everything fell into place. my mom didn't let me buy a t-shirt though. urgh.
so on september 21, i finally saw FOB live. it was awesome. we did have a run-in with security but we worked our way around that. they confiscated our cameras. naive little girls, displaying their cameras before it even got dark. we sneaked mikka's camera back into her bag before the guard noticed. good thing my camera is so bulky that it passed for 2 cameras. stupid security gurad for not checking. stupid camera guard for believing us. all i can say is, lesson learned. they covered basket case by green day which is pretty special. it was fun overall. i enjoyed hanging out with mikka. i have proclaimed her my official concert buddy. it was fun because everyone was singing along. sigh. i still wish we had vip tickets. we have cool seats but vip is just different.
last week was just brutal. projects needed to be passed, shorts needed to be sewn, compostions had to be completed, and on top of that, it was also our parent-daughter bonding! don't let me forget the speech examination. and on friday, i had a derma appointment! it sounds like a lot when i put it that way, but it sounds like a lot however way i put it. let's just say i never slept earlier than 11. good news regarding the speech exam though, i perfected it! well-deserved too, i might add.
this weekend was supposed to be for IDEA. i didn't attend because of the many above-average projects that needed to be made. i wish the team good luck! hopefully they all break. i miss debate but i i must admit that school is at a higher priority. maybe this kind of mentality is what defeats me as a debater.
i have to go now, but i still want to blog. i won't change my skin because i'm still loving this one. oh, btw, i have plans with sam, belay, and daryll on the 20th of october. it should be fun. perfect opportunity to wear my skinny jeans =) yes, i bought one, out of the kindness of my father's wallet.
mastery tests are coming up, need to bring up my grades. i'm getting nervous.

hello!
Friday, July 20, 2007 5:58 PM
hi blog! i know i've been dormant for (what i feel is) more than a few decades. accept my apology because i simply have no time in the world left to post in this blog. between debate training, homework, late mang anton, there is no time left! let me just speed this up.
july 2 - my birthday! we had a family dinner consisting of dad's famous meatloaf, spaghetti, cake and other delicious things...which i cannot remember.
july 4 - 1st PALIHAN. we didn't do much. just played games to...uhh...encourage team building
july 7 - birthday party! we had our neoprints, bowling, movie and dinner! fun, fun, fun! forget the hole it put in my mom's pocket. bowling is fun if you're winning, it sucks if you don't hit a single pin. the neoprints are cool! i'll be sure to scan them soon! the movie was great. a bit anti-climatic but still awesome. shi labeouf seems to be getting hawtter.
july 8 - saw live free or die hard with my dad, kuya jay and ate ida. definitely a dick flick. but it was cool. the techno speak was a bit confusing. my dad said it needed more action. yeah dad, i bet it does.
july 10 - kuya jay's birthday! we had another family dinner consisting of pansit, lengua, etc. debate training extended until 6:00 and i had dad pick me up. super chaos! in the end, aimee ended up hitching a ride with us, we had to pick up ate ida at jolibee araneta, we had to buy pansit for kuya jay (his request), adn we had to go through all this in a storm! happy birthday kuya jay! have a good one!
july 11 - i had to skip debate training for this one (tuesdays & wednesdays) because i want to watch harry potter and the order of the pheonix at gateway. ate heny got me tickets. i had to finish all of my homework and leave at 6 to beat the traffic. we made it on time, thank god, and i got to watch it! yay! it was great but it wasn't non-reader friendly. those who haven't read the book might be a bit confuzzled.
july 14- integ seminar at ateneo. seminar on debating. it was beyond boring because i already knew everything. waste of my 50 bucks. had fun with kate though. enjoyed sir alvin's debate stories. had a mountain dew float at KFC. do not try it, its 'orrible!
july 18 - pre-selling of fall out boy tickets. gawd! i need to get my grimy fingers on them...pronto! fall out boy concert is on september 21!!! ahhh! can't wait!!! my dream has come true! my prayer has been answered! thank you, oh, thank you!
july 20 - today! not much has happened. belay is still at home with 'lagnat'. get well soon! she's been absent for 3 days. count how many quizes she's missed. haha. stuck with daryll -- cheesy fries-less. sad. tomorrow is the deathly hallows release! OMG

! i finally get to read the ending of a saga! i'm part of history! must get my hands on that book...and quite possibly a box :)

internet was out again
Monday, May 28, 2007 7:43 PM
i haven't posted in a little over a week. mainly because i've been busy (ehem) and the internet was shot. we got cut off because dad forgot to pay it (he's getting old). smartbro said that it would we back in 24 hours after payment. so dad paid for it and we tore ourselves away from the internet for a while...not the computer though. remember, there are other things to do in the computer that go online. after almost 3 days, hallelujah, the internet is once again up and running!
ever since my last post, what have i been up to? well, i went to enchanted kingdom on the 20th with my canadian cousins and my two sisters. it was so much fun! we went on every ride except those rides for kids only with a height limit and the swan ride. and i mean every ride. for the first time, i rode the space shuttle! can you believe? my back hurt like crazy afterward especially the nape part but it was all right. i kept my eyes closed throughout the ride and my head bowed down which probably caused my aching back. i didn't exactly know what to do since it was my first time on the ride so i'm taking down notes to improve my next ride on the space shuttle.
on the 22nd, i sent in a text message to kelly at magic 89.9. on the first text, i just wrote "can you please play thnks fr th mmrs by fall out boy? thanks! -andrea". and so i waited around for her to play the song and mention my name on air. well, she didn't play the song but she did greet me. she just sort of said my name in passing along with the other people who texted in. that was cool but that just didn't cut it for me. so itexted again. this time i texted "can you please play with love by hilary duff? any chance you'll be giving away harry potter tickets in the near future? will you please greet my best friends ysabel, daryll, and sam? thanks ms. kelly -claire". i made myself sound like an 8 year old because it seems like kelly likes kids. well, she did greet me and my friends, addressed the question of the harry potter tickets and told me that with love was no longer in the play list but she will try to find it. her words (as i remember them) were: got a message from claire asking with love by hilary duff, that's not in the cards anymore but i'll try to find it for you. will we be giving away harry potter tickets anytime soon? well if we had harry potter tickets i'll be keeping them for myself! (laugh) claire wants to greet her best friends ysabel, daryll and sam. oh, no worries, claire." so that's the story of my radio message from kelly!
on the 23rd and the 24th was the idol finale! they both "did their thing" and was really impressive. i liked what simon (or was it randy) said: its a battle between the singer and the superstar so we can't really tell. well, JORDIN WON! i was kinda rooting for her but i really like blake. i just hope that blake will be more successful. i dunno. i want jordin to win but i want blake to succeed. i hope the latter part comes true because the former already did. also on the 24th was my violin lessons. it was only for an hour so i didn't feel like i learned anything but i'll be coming back on the 31st with vengeance for my poor performance on this day. i just have to perfect #9 and 8. so to do that...i have to practice. i haven't been doing that..hehe
on the 25th was Yan-Yan's birthday. we just had a big homemade dinner for her and they went to a comedy club after. i couldn't go because there was bound to be some dirty jokes. pshh..as if. when they got home (about 2 o'clock) they didn't look that satisfied. turns out they went to Zirkoh and there was more singing than joke-telling. too bad. they should have gone to punchline...not Zirkoh. on the 26th they took off to go to tagaytay highlands. kuya jay didn't come with them. i wouldn't have taken his place because i'll just feel awkward. and the fact that i was only a sub didn't exactly entice me. i was supposed to go in the event that kuya jay couldn't come but they didn't wake me up. i bet mom had something to do with it >.<
on the 27th my dad and i went to san simon, pampanga to check out a car that he was getting tricked out as a funeral service car. it was the benz that we used to drive around. shame. and the van that we are now driving around has now been turned into yet another funeral car. i think dad is showing me the ropes coz he wants me to take over the funeral business. ack! no way in hell! after that, we went to TriNoma. the new mall near SM north edsa. its huge and so beautiful. its an ayala mall after all. about half the stores remain unopened but so many people are already checking it out. that mall is officially my new favorite mall. so there.
today, the 28th, i went back to STC to get the rest of the stuff i need for school. i also drove around with my dad to find those dang acrylic plastic sheets that just can't be found. it took us about 3 hours to find it. thank gawd it wasn't a minute more or i would have gone spoiled brat on my dad and made us go home. nahhh...i would never do that. not after he just bought me Php2000 shoes. got it at hush puppies in trinoma :) hihihihi...haven't told mom about it yet. she'll freak! so now i have 2 days to perfect my violin skills. i hope i do get it done. so many events just keep popping up. so many things to do, so little time...have i mentioned school starts on the 6th?????
