weekend and a couple of days of school

currently listening to: shots - lmfao
spent the previous saturday cleaning stuff in the first floor. nearly a month after the great flood and we're still cleaning. my dad is inexplicably enthusiastic about it. wonder what's gotten into him. we cleaned some more on sunday. i bowed out during the afternoon to start working on the religion group work. we all decided to watch michael jackson's this is it after going to mass. it was a great movie, if i can call it that.
note to self: a medium bucket of popcorn is not enough. always get the biggest size. you know you love that thing.
my math teacher told us our math grades today (report card) and she told me mine increased! that is such great news because i know that my quarter exam was a major fail. i was so not expecting it to increase. i so thought it would just be retained. yahoo!
my busmates and i discussed how annoying it is that everyone is saying BV all of a sudden (and frequently too). in lieu of this new fad word, i want to share with you my BV moment of the day.
i printed our rel report on the non-sticky side of my acetate. BV.
that might not have made much sense, but it sure is giving me bad vibes. haha
a'ight. off to higher pursuits.

slow weekend

currently listening to: stuck with each other - shontelle ft. akon
this had to be the most boring and unproductive weekend i have had in a while. the last time i was this useless was the summer of 2008.
i was so bored, i made leche flan. i mean, who does that?
the highlight would have to be when i went to the podium with my mom, my sister, and my aunt to watch Confessions of A Shopaholic. now that i think about it, you can call that a girl's night out
ew.
before the movie, we had these P100 ice cream cones. oh, excuuuuse me. it wasn't ice cream. it was gelato. before that particular cone, i never had trouble finishing off an ice cream scoop. the flavor was just so rich...you had to take it slow.
the flavor was "after 8"... or you could just call it mint chocolate.
the movie was really funny. i loved it. i'd definitely watch it again. the guy who played Luke Brandon was really hot. my sister said it was just the accent. haha, probably. he's a mix of orlando bloom and a young colin firth. not bad, eh? i would have preferred an all-British cast and the setting would be better in London. but it was still all good.
movies i watched this weekend: confessions of a shopaholic, the bee movie, and juno
that just proves how much time i have on my hands.
i was supposed to go to the practice for our play today at meann's house. opted not to. nobody could take me and i could accomplish so much more here at home. out of guilt, i worked on the script and made "director's notes". hope it'll make us more efficient.
okay. that's it.
also, i plan to read a book a week. i'm getting more and more illiterate by the second.
ciao for now.

currently listening to: patd interview - npr world cafe session (yeah...i know)
the family day is over. my section didn't win but i think we did pretty well, all things considered. i didn't stick around for the family day because the crowd was overwhelming and the heat was unbearable. besides, i wasn't looking too awesome that day, so why let everyone see my overheated state?
when i got home, i wanted to just crash on my bed.
alas, i have no bed! since my dad had my room repainted (he literally had it repainted it...as in the same color...white), the place smells like (what else) paint. it's really not healthy to be inhaling all those fumes so i had to sleep on my parent's bed. that didn't last long either. my dad woke me up so i could start putting my furniture back in. ugh.
sunday. i finally thought i would be getting the much needed rest i'd been longing for. unfortunately, my dad woke me up at 7 so we could go to my grandmother's sister's birthday party (tia nene). mind you, the party is in my uncle's house in lucena, quezon. about a four-hour drive. it was just me and my dad because my sisters are too lazy and my mom is too busy. we finally got there and it was another alcancia family reunion. it sucked that i'm the only representative from our family. everyone else's family was almost complete. we got there at 12 pm, just in time for lunch. i mostly hung out with chela, since we're the cousins with the closest ages. after lunch, we watched the hottie and the nottie with our second cousins in their TV room (or whatever you call the room with the TV inside). that killed the time while the adults chatted outside. the movie finished just in time for the goodbyes. everyone had to go back home and whatnot.
it was another four hour drive back to manila and then we went to mass. i guess that concludes another one of my exciting weekends.
oh, yeah. i watched high school musical 3: senior year with belay, daryll, and sam last friday. it was awesome! loved the songs. the only thing i didn't like was how it all ended for sharpay. i guess she has to learn humility and all that. oh, well. so, will there be a high school musical 4? i hope so. the newbies looked promising.

weekend post 2
Sunday, September 28, 2008 6:44 PM
i'm currently listening to
norwegian recycling's first compilation album,
so far. i read about them on the inquirer this saturday. i like 'i wish i was a teenage dirtbag'. scratch

that. they're all pretty awesome.
yeah. weekend post part two. it's been a busy weekend.
friday - went to school and did who-knows-what. got home. rescheduled dentist appointment and then went to greenhills with my dad. bought 7:45 pm tickets for eagle eye. ate dinner at
peri-peri in promenade. bought a few
stuff. saw
eagle eye [shia labeouf, michelle monaghan, billy bob thornton]. went home at 10:30.
saturday - woke up like it's a school day and went to school like it's a school day.
iLead forum. had school introductions.
school intoductions were mostly creative. stc's was lame. so sad. the palihan leaders [me included] were supposed to be in charge of that. i appreciated xavier's because their intro was from one of my most favorite movies of all time:
dodgeball [clap, clap, cobra hiss :)]. had tuna sandwich and new harvest for the
working merienda. watched the
presentations of 13 schools on their best practices on environment. gawd. they were all pretty much the same. i used to believe that the outreach programs were unique to stc. oh dear, how wrong i was. high schools everywhere pretty much do the same things. theresians aren't missing out on much.

got home at nearly 1:00 pm. scarfed my lunch down. got dressed. packed for trip. left with the family for
tagaytay at 2:00ish. arrived at
8 suites by fat jimmy two and a half hours later. the name is odd but the place is fantastic and very zen-ish. the place is on a 'soft opening'. the place is a kilometer away from tagaytay highlands, the destination. changed into party clothes and left at 6:00 pm. arrived at country club to celebrate my cousin's wedding. it was a
'dinner and dance party'. i had dinner but did no dancing. stayed there until a quarter to 10. went back to hotel to rest and have a gossip girl marathon [season one].
sunday - got up at 9 and had breakfast at
merk's cafe. watched gossip girl some more. got ready to leave. left the hotel at 12:30. ate lunch at unknown grill place. traveled back to manila. went to a 4:00 pm mass at
the holy redeemer. bought bread at pan de manila. got home at 5:30 pm-ish. unpacked and got ready for tomorrow. opened the computer and watched fall out boy's video for
i don't care. downloaded norwegian recycling compilation album. blogged on blogger.
so, what was your weekend like?

weekend post 1
Sunday, September 21, 2008 9:34 PM
i just wanted to do a quick post before the weekend is over. i went to the coastal clean-up with the rest of the officers yesterday. buying the boots was a good call because the floor was literally made up of trash. they handed us these sticks to pierce the trash. i tried it out for a few minutes before i fully realized that it didn't lessen the garbage in the area. so i finally put the stick down and used my [gloved] hands.
buying rubber gloves: very good call
a lot of people were there, actually. from all over, i guess. it was the international coastal clean-up day hosted by the DENR. freedom island's coast line was almost entirely made out of garbage. the place was hella stinky. we'd been cleaning there for an hour and it didn't seem like we lessened the trash. we went back to the buses at around 8:30 AM. we left the place at 9:00 AM. our bus kind of got sidetracked so we had to go around a farther u-turn slot. we got back to school at 10:00 AM. kind of a long ride considering we were just a little bit ahead the mall of asia. we were the last bus to get to STC. actually, when we got there, all of the buses were gone. i'm assuming they already parked in gate 7.
since we finished early, (the ETA was 10:30) i had to call my mom up to pick me up. too bad no one was available. so...on July 20, 2008, i rode a jeepney alone for the first time. oh yeah, it's a huge deal. i know way younger kids have been riding the jeep alone for as long as they can remember but i'm not like them. i rode a jeepney for the first time as a 15-year old. who said 15 wasn't a milestone year? haha. my first jeepney ride all alone was a pleasant one. haha. if you consider riding a jeepney pleasant.
after taking a scalding hot shower (to kill the smell, germs, etc) i had lunch with the family and then i went to trinoma with ate ida. i accompanied her while she was shopping. that hurt so much because i didn't even get to buy anything. :(
sunday: i watched game one of ateneo vs. la salle. i really hadn't been following the season but my sister was watching so i watched along with her. she's an atenean so guess who we were rooting for. i'd forgotten how much fun it was to watch basketball. my mom got so into it, we almot missed mass. almost. my mom would never let us miss mass unless we couldn't stand anymore.
so yeah, that's how my weekend went. how was yours?
