hey! it's been a while since i wrote on this blog. all i do on the internet lately is reblog stuff on tumblr. it's crazy. i remember a time when i said that my tumblr account would be for posting pictures that i don't think is relevant to the purpose of this blog. and now, my tumblr has taken over my whole life. i don't mind that much though since i don't have too much to write. my life is that boring.
so the last post ended with my enrollment for college. let's continue with celebrations now because there was a lot of that going on.
MOTHER'S DAY. to celebrate this hallmark holiday, my sister and i got our mom a cake. it's just the two of us this time so we didn't get to do much. we actually celebrated it on the 8th since ate ida had to go on duty at the medical city. i also made my mom a card/poster thing that i put op on the hallway mirror so everyone would see :D
SAM'S 17TH. ahhh! sam's birthday. on the day itself, i just greeted her through text since i wouldn't be able to see her that day. the next day was where the real celebration began because we went to trinoma for the partay. so the movie we saw was nightmare on elm street (after much debate between that and miley cyrus' the last song). the movie itself wasn't scary. it was the suspense that had me covering my eyes halfway. after that we ate at taco bell. while we were waiting for the food to arrive, koko, daryll, and i snuck out saying we were headed to the bathroom while we got sam a cake at red ribbon. we just joined forces because the three of us didn't get her a birthday gift. (sorry, sam! i wanted to get her this shirt that had the word LONDON written on it in bold. the lettering was a loud neon green. but i decided against it because the style of the shirt had this wraparound thingy on it and it just didn't look good) anyway, here's what we had written on it:
Oreo Cheesecake
(i totally effed up on editing the "AND" part. the "LIVE" part also looks like it was taken under different lighting. haha. i'm too lazy to fix both.)
sam is a big star trek fan after all (the movie not the series, as i've heard her say once). when koko and i were discussing what we wanted the inscription to be, i suggested "every day you grow older, but today you get a cake". in the fashion of 500 days of summer. but it would have been too long to put on a cake so my next suggestion was "i am your father". it didn't really make sense. XD i just figured sam would appreciate it since she's also a star wars fan (she's so geeky. haha. not really). belay caight up with us and we just walked around the mall. sam showed us this adidas hoodie that had a star wars design that we're gonna get when we all come up with 500 bucks. we wanted it to be like a sisterhood of traveling pants type of thing where each one of us gets it for two months a year. i believe it was this one:
i have 500 bucks already guys! :)) let's get it!
ATE IDA'S 27TH. so after sam's party, i had to get ready for dinner out with my family to celebrate ate ida's birthday at this restaurant in tomas morato. we went to yakimix, this new teppanyaki restaurant that offers japanese and korean cuisine. i had fun cooking the food and all that. we even saw polo ravales in there with his girlfriend. is he even in showbiz anymore? my dad was really annoyed at this one guy who keeps cleaning out the lobster every time they refill it. so rude. some respect for the other people who want to eat lobster too! jeezus. i checked out the reviews on the restaurant beforehand and it was really mixed. some enjoyed themselves and promised to return while others swore it was the worst dining experience they've ever had. i liked the restaurant though and i'd recommend it. we probably won't be going back anytime soon because my mom really doesn't like to go to buffet restaurants any more.
flipping the food with the birthday girl :)
so that's it really. the rest of my days have been super boring and very routine. i was wrong you know when i said driving with my dad was the most stressful thing i've ever experienced. turns out, driving with my sister is 10x that stress. every move i make is scrutinized in a very bitchy manner. i hope she loosens up next time. i really dread having to drive with her in the car. *shudders*
13 days to go until college starts. but i heard on the news that deped is pushing the start of classes of public schools to the 15th. i wonder if that affects my school. but then again, it's CHED that has the final word on that now....i think.
a'ight. g'night. i'll try to blog more often and tumb'l less. :)

date night

yesterday, my dad, my sister and i went to gateway to see date night starring tina fey and steve carell. actually, that's a lie. we left the house without knowing where we were headed or what we would do once we got there. i guess indecision runs in the family. that and a lack of communication.
anyway, we got there just in time. and believe me, that rarely happens (to me, anyway). we got there at around 3:45 PM and the movie starts at 3:50. it really was a miracle because it was a saturday and there wasn't an impossibly long line for tickets. we were at the gateway cineplex on a saturday and there wasn't a line. who woulda thunk it? my sister got snacks (no line either) but she sure took her time salting her popcorn. we enter the movie theater and we arrived just when the last trailer before the movie ends. we settle into our seats and enjoy the opening credits. now that's what i call a photo finish.
the movie was really funny. like laugh-out-loud funny. there were also a lot of "WTF?" moments so that made it fun. i laughed the hardest during their stripper dance. it was all kinds of wrong but oh so funny. i loved that amazon's kindle was on the movie. yay for product placement! speaking of the scene with the kindle, the car chase was extremely funny. :))
after the movie, we browsed some of the stores in gateway, not really looking for anything in particular. then we ate at burgoo for dinner and headed home. the day started with lots of tension but we ended up having a good time. too bad my mom couldn't come with. i hope she feels and gets better.
in other news, i've finished The Titan's Curse, the third book in the percy jackson series and i must say, it is very funny. i've been spamming quotes from the book on my tumblr all night. now that i think about it, sea of monsters was not as good as the first and this third one. maybe because the gods are really the source of most of the comedy in the series. anyway, i'm excited to read the fourth, The Battle of the Labyrinth. wonder what kind of trouble nico di angelo will cause. oooooooh. i'm excited.

mom screamed me into consciousness this morning. how can she be annoyed at me for oversleeping?
had my dentist appointment today. he said there were still spaces between my teeth. the rubber rings are now fully connected with one another (get the picture?). it's tight as hell now and it hurts a bit. i really thought he was gonna take them out. dagnabbit.
got accessories for my ipod. went dress shopping with sister dear. i'm pretty sure it's my third visit to greenhills within a period of seven days. that's a record for me.
slow day all in all.
gonna leave at the crack of dawn tomorrow to go back to calapan. 2009 is just around the corner...
update! i just remembered that my sister spotted slick rick and tony toni. i wanted to point at them and say "spot the slick!". unfortunately, since i haven't been listening lately, i'm not sure if that contest is still in progress. stupid time slot change. haha. that's all.

coming at you

location: my sister's room (eldest)
this post is coming from the laptop in my sister's room. i can't use the computer because the monitor broke down and it's taking forever for my brother to get it fixed.
the response time is a little slower. the internet is slower. but that's okay.
my last post was a week ago and a lot has happened since.
saturday, may 31 - mom and i went to the mall of asia to watch the last day of the world pyro olympics. i didn't want to go at first because the mall of asia is so far from the house. i have to go to another city just to watch fireworks. anyway, we got there soon enough. it was crowded and you can hear people "oo-ing" and "ahh-ing". one kid exclaimed, "ang ganda! Philippines siguro yan (referring to the competition)!". i was so surprised. it astounds me to know that there are still people out there who believe in the capacity of the Philippines to do great things. we had dinner at the french baker and since the mall didn't close until 11, we went shopping. mom got stockings for ate ida and i got a shirt at people r people. we were supposed to go to a salon because mom wanted to get a haircut. but it was late and mom didn't feel like it anymore.
thursday, june 5 - i went back to the dentist to get my braces adjusted. it's now the color of gold. i chose gold because i wanted my braces to look like grillz. bad idea. you can't see the color very well unless you're standing 5 inches from me and you look really closely. next time, i am sooo going for another color. since my dentist is at greenhills, and i had my mom with me, we decided to go to the mall area. we went to mass first. goodness. 90% of the people going to mass had to be above 50 years old. then we went to lunch at le ching. say what you want about the ambiance of the place. but the food is hella good. we went shopping again. mom got a t-shirt for ate ida and i got a pair of flats.
that's it so far. i painted my toenails pink last night just for the heck of it. school starts in 3 measly days. what the hell am i gonna do?

bit of shopping
Sunday, May 25, 2008 8:25 PM

we went to see "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" today at the Gateway Mall. we got there just in time for the 3:00 pm screening. when we got to the theater itself, we found this couple occupying our seats. my sister told them that they were in our reserved seats (as politely as she can). the couple wouldn't believe us so we got the usher to sort everything out.
turns out, the couple went on the wrong entrance to the theater. it wasn't so embarrassing for them because the theater was already dark.
the movie was good. lots of action and adventure. i haven't seen an Indiana Jones movie before probably because the last one was shown 19 years ago (according to Star Movies - VIP Access). that's probably why ate ida isn't familiar with Indiana Jones as well. we don't have any dvds of the movies in the house so i really didn't know what to expect.
we didn't know the characters and their relationships but it wasn't that hard to figure out. i didn't think much of the plot but the action more than made up for it.
after the movie, we went to the loos. we saw a sign that said that there was going to be Mass held right there in the mall. we went to that one instead of going to Christ the King, as was planned.
we had snacks at bread talk. they ran out of sola so we had to get drinks at taco bell.
we still didn't feel like going home so we went around the stores. ate ida bought this
fab hoodie. it was so cool. it's reversible and...well...just plain fab. she told us that it was her birthday gift to herself. it cost around three grand but it was so worth it. haha. i am so going to borrow it. number one on the waiting list :)
i was going to buy shoes but ....
OMG. there was a snake in the house. it's about a foot long, maybe more. probably as thick as my pointer finger. it jumped in from the window! crazy! it was hissing (no sound. but i'm sure it did.) at our cat and our dog.
after quite a bit of screaming, cel had the presence of mind to get a knife and kill the snake. she attacked its body. it didn't split in half. i think cel was still scared at that point. but that first attack caused the snake to stop moving.
cel banged the knife on its head (to confuse it?). it looked dead but it was still moving its tail. i asked cel to prod it a few more times to make sure it was dead. the snake's blood was everywhere.
we wanted to take a picture. after all, it's not everyday a snake decides to drop in on your house. unfortunately, the camera was traveling in europe with my sister. sadness.
i asked cel what we should do with it. i thought for a moment that we should bury it somewhere. cel had a different idea. wrap it up in newspaper and chuck it outside :D we went with her plan.
alas. a snake!
i thought it was just a worm at first. but it was so long...it couldn't be.
so...yeah. i didn't find any that i liked. we went home after that. goodness. how can i talk about shoes when a snake was just in the house?

day at the mall
Monday, March 24, 2008 11:09 PM
i woke up today at about 11:30. normal waking hour. ate ida told me that we will leave for greenhills after lunch so i should take a shower now if i ever want to. so i did. ok, this is too detailed. we went to the mall with dad and did an errand for mom. we just shopped around for a bit (mostly ate ida). she got new iPod earphones, an iPod movie downloader, 2 new tops, a pair of jeans, and a perfume from bench/. she sure spent a lot that day.

as for me, i got a new game. the sims castaway stories. it's super fun (so far) and super long (from what i can tell). it's a bit challenging but that's what makes it fun. it should continue to be fun if i don't succumb to the temptation of reading the guide at this website i found. :) to be honest, i'm not totally excited about it. it seems like a regular, i-got-trapped-in-an-island story. but it seems to offer a few twists and turns along the way. think
Survivor meets
Lost. i'm not keen on finishing it quickly. i bought it to kill time. also, to stop downloading games from yahoo and various websites. the 60-minute trial is killing me.

while we were in the V-mall, the stores all over carried the new and improved
iPod nano. oh-my-gawd. i want it so badly! and guess what? its under 10,000 pesoses, c'mon! i admit, if i added 4,000 more bucks, i could have gotten myself an iPod video...during the promo period. but whatever. it's so cute, no? the 4G version is only available in silver. the 8G is available in three other colors. ahh! can't i get it now? it's so awesome. but! if i get this, i can say goodbye to ever upgrading my cellphone until next year. so, what's more important? a cellphone or an iPod? believe it or not, i'm having a hard time deciding. this is definitely on
my wishlist. along with a motorola/samsung phone. :D
it' s ok to dream.
*UPDATE: woah. i just checked the price of the nano in the states and converted it to pesos. the 4G is exactly Php 6210.32 ($149 USD). the 8G is Php 8294.32 ($199). they even have it in more colors there. maybe i should get a relative in the states to buy me one so it will be cheaper. hmm. sounds like a good plan. now....to i find a relative...

sorry. couldn't think of any other title. my cousins from canada are staying with us and stuff. we've been showing them around town. mostly malls. honestly. i think they're so over shopping. i know i am. we went to greenhills, sm megamall, robinsons, mall of asia, quiapo markets, landmark, glorietta, greenbelt... its insane. anyway, just wanted to update you guys. i'll be going to puerto galera with them. ahh, the benefits of having cousins who live abroad. i am still pining, hoping and praying fall out boy will come to the philippines. it is so not possible right now because they have their hc tour but in the near future, i hope they'll come here. i would die if i see patrick or pete or andy or joe in real life. close enough to breathe their air. haha. a picture would be nice as well. i don't think i was a fan when they came to singapore. i doubt i would have gone to their concert there because being from the philippines, and having to attend school kinda hinders me from ever seeing them. sigh. well. later =)
