hey! it's been a while since i wrote on this blog. all i do on the internet lately is reblog stuff on tumblr. it's crazy. i remember a time when i said that my tumblr account would be for posting pictures that i don't think is relevant to the purpose of this blog. and now, my tumblr has taken over my whole life. i don't mind that much though since i don't have too much to write. my life is that boring.
so the last post ended with my enrollment for college. let's continue with celebrations now because there was a lot of that going on.
MOTHER'S DAY. to celebrate this hallmark holiday, my sister and i got our mom a cake. it's just the two of us this time so we didn't get to do much. we actually celebrated it on the 8th since ate ida had to go on duty at the medical city. i also made my mom a card/poster thing that i put op on the hallway mirror so everyone would see :D
SAM'S 17TH. ahhh! sam's birthday. on the day itself, i just greeted her through text since i wouldn't be able to see her that day. the next day was where the real celebration began because we went to trinoma for the partay. so the movie we saw was nightmare on elm street (after much debate between that and miley cyrus' the last song). the movie itself wasn't scary. it was the suspense that had me covering my eyes halfway. after that we ate at taco bell. while we were waiting for the food to arrive, koko, daryll, and i snuck out saying we were headed to the bathroom while we got sam a cake at red ribbon. we just joined forces because the three of us didn't get her a birthday gift. (sorry, sam! i wanted to get her this shirt that had the word LONDON written on it in bold. the lettering was a loud neon green. but i decided against it because the style of the shirt had this wraparound thingy on it and it just didn't look good) anyway, here's what we had written on it:
Oreo Cheesecake
(i totally effed up on editing the "AND" part. the "LIVE" part also looks like it was taken under different lighting. haha. i'm too lazy to fix both.)
sam is a big star trek fan after all (the movie not the series, as i've heard her say once). when koko and i were discussing what we wanted the inscription to be, i suggested "every day you grow older, but today you get a cake". in the fashion of 500 days of summer. but it would have been too long to put on a cake so my next suggestion was "i am your father". it didn't really make sense. XD i just figured sam would appreciate it since she's also a star wars fan (she's so geeky. haha. not really). belay caight up with us and we just walked around the mall. sam showed us this adidas hoodie that had a star wars design that we're gonna get when we all come up with 500 bucks. we wanted it to be like a sisterhood of traveling pants type of thing where each one of us gets it for two months a year. i believe it was this one:
i have 500 bucks already guys! :)) let's get it!
ATE IDA'S 27TH. so after sam's party, i had to get ready for dinner out with my family to celebrate ate ida's birthday at this restaurant in tomas morato. we went to yakimix, this new teppanyaki restaurant that offers japanese and korean cuisine. i had fun cooking the food and all that. we even saw polo ravales in there with his girlfriend. is he even in showbiz anymore? my dad was really annoyed at this one guy who keeps cleaning out the lobster every time they refill it. so rude. some respect for the other people who want to eat lobster too! jeezus. i checked out the reviews on the restaurant beforehand and it was really mixed. some enjoyed themselves and promised to return while others swore it was the worst dining experience they've ever had. i liked the restaurant though and i'd recommend it. we probably won't be going back anytime soon because my mom really doesn't like to go to buffet restaurants any more.
flipping the food with the birthday girl :)
so that's it really. the rest of my days have been super boring and very routine. i was wrong you know when i said driving with my dad was the most stressful thing i've ever experienced. turns out, driving with my sister is 10x that stress. every move i make is scrutinized in a very bitchy manner. i hope she loosens up next time. i really dread having to drive with her in the car. *shudders*
13 days to go until college starts. but i heard on the news that deped is pushing the start of classes of public schools to the 15th. i wonder if that affects my school. but then again, it's CHED that has the final word on that now....i think.
a'ight. g'night. i'll try to blog more often and tumb'l less. :)

driving, UP, and being a homebody

currently listening to: one time (my heart edition) - justin bieber
i totally just stumbled upon that edition of one time. being a fan of his music, i immediately had to get it on my ipod. haha. i'm pathetic.

anyway, i went to calapan last week to learn how to drive. i was taught by one of my dad's drivers there, Kuya Pikoy. during lessons, we were accompanied by either Lara or Angel. i really owe these guys for their patience with me. lots of driving around calapan ensued and at one point, we reached naujan, the city after calapan. but the real lessons started when my dad started teaching me. his teaching style often left me in tears which is really horrible. he would start yelling at me for not following his instructions. the kind of yelling where his face goes red and spit starts flying out of his mouth. i really hated him during those moments. honestly, how can you expect me to get it right immediately. the first time it happened, he was teaching me to get the car in reverse and turn it into the path. he would also get mad if i went too fast during reverse. boy, that really gets him going. he also can't comprehend why the car keeps dying on me and he hates it when i start the car in the wrong order. he's a really bad teacher in the sense that he can't understand it when mistakes are made. he's a really good teacher in the sense that you wanna get it right already so he can stop his angry shouting. gawd.

we get to manila and we practice driving around here some more. we were driving along quezon avenue, a really busy street with jeeps, buses, and cars galore. a jeep cut in front of me while the car behind me was trying to overtake. he really got mad at that one. he told me i should have stopped because the road in front of me was narrowing because of the two cars. he went on and on about it until we reached UP. he seriously did not stop shouting at me until i got out of the car for the freshman orientation. he just didn't stop which i thought was crazy. he really doesn't know when the listener has had enough. jeezuz. he says i'll be a better driver for it but i just scoffed at that. after all, i'm a teenager.
as for the UP experience, i said my piece in an email to my sister which i will share with you :)
Hi! Mom, dad, and I went to UP today for the enrollment/registration. We had to get there before 7 AM because the car is color coding. Anyway, we went straight to the college of business administration for some orientation and advising. The college dean, Dr. Erlinda Echanis, gave some welcoming remarks then the College Secretary, Prof. Manny Manuel discussed the policies and curriculum of the 2 courses under CBA. Apparently, BSBAA gets 6,000 applicants a year, making it the most popular course choice in UPD. BSBA is the fourth. I found out that the guy seated on my right was a high school valedictorian and so are the two girls seated next to me on the left. At that point, i just wanted to transfer seats :)).
After the advising, we had to go to the OUR. We even got lost because the map i got off the internet was outdated. Loooooong lines at the OUR. From confirmation of the pre-enlistment course choices to the assessment of tuition fees. Especially the assessment. There were 3 people doing that and they weren't very fast about it. The line extended all the way outside the conference room. Since yesterday was a holiday, the people who were supposed to enroll yesterday joined us. SUPER HABA TALAGA NG LAHAT NG PILA. Good thing we got there early so we beat the rush hour. We left the OUR at 1:00 PM. I was in there for nearly 3 hours. Goodness gracious.
My tuition fee amounted to P27,000+. (1,500 per unit * 17 units)
Dad left to go to the bank (to beat the bank deadline and the color coding) so mom and i took the jeep to get out of UP.
So ends the very headache-inducing enrollment. Mom said it was worse during your time because there was no pre-enlistment and computers :)) I have to go back tomorrow for the Freshman Orientation and again on May 11 to get my Photo-ID.
Check out my schedule for the first sem that i attached. My PE is table tennis which i find weird but i guess i could live with it.
Aight. Bye!

so that's it. right now, i'm just enjoying the peace and quiet here at home. i'm even taking a break from driving practice because my body started aching in parts after 1 week of solid driving. especially my legs. curse you, clutch! but it's ok. i find it cool that i can get drive from one place to another now. the next hurdle now is parking. but i'll get it eventually. someday, i'll read "Defensive Driving" and "Understanding Road Signs". that day will probably be the day before i take the test for a non-pro license. but not if my dad has anything to say about it. and you just know he does.
