this is the life you'd love to lead
bit of shopping

we went to see "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" today at the Gateway Mall. we got there just in time for the 3:00 pm screening. when we got to the theater itself, we found this couple occupying our seats. my sister told them that they were in our reserved seats (as politely as she can). the couple wouldn't believe us so we got the usher to sort everything out.
turns out, the couple went on the wrong entrance to the theater. it wasn't so embarrassing for them because the theater was already dark.
the movie was good. lots of action and adventure. i haven't seen an Indiana Jones movie before probably because the last one was shown 19 years ago (according to Star Movies - VIP Access). that's probably why ate ida isn't familiar with Indiana Jones as well. we don't have any dvds of the movies in the house so i really didn't know what to expect.
we didn't know the characters and their relationships but it wasn't that hard to figure out. i didn't think much of the plot but the action more than made up for it.
after the movie, we went to the loos. we saw a sign that said that there was going to be Mass held right there in the mall. we went to that one instead of going to Christ the King, as was planned.
we had snacks at bread talk. they ran out of sola so we had to get drinks at taco bell.
we still didn't feel like going home so we went around the stores. ate ida bought this
fab hoodie. it was so cool. it's reversible and...well...just plain fab. she told us that it was her birthday gift to herself. it cost around three grand but it was so worth it. haha. i am so going to borrow it. number one on the waiting list :)
i was going to buy shoes but ....
OMG. there was a snake in the house. it's about a foot long, maybe more. probably as thick as my pointer finger. it jumped in from the window! crazy! it was hissing (no sound. but i'm sure it did.) at our cat and our dog.
after quite a bit of screaming, cel had the presence of mind to get a knife and kill the snake. she attacked its body. it didn't split in half. i think cel was still scared at that point. but that first attack caused the snake to stop moving.
cel banged the knife on its head (to confuse it?). it looked dead but it was still moving its tail. i asked cel to prod it a few more times to make sure it was dead. the snake's blood was everywhere.
we wanted to take a picture. after all, it's not everyday a snake decides to drop in on your house. unfortunately, the camera was traveling in europe with my sister. sadness.
i asked cel what we should do with it. i thought for a moment that we should bury it somewhere. cel had a different idea. wrap it up in newspaper and chuck it outside :D we went with her plan.
alas. a snake!
i thought it was just a worm at first. but it was so long...it couldn't be.
so...yeah. i didn't find any that i liked. we went home after that. goodness. how can i talk about shoes when a snake was just in the house?

in loving memory

throughout this entire blog, i don't think he was ever mentioned.
i always took him for granted.
never letting it come to my mind that he would be gone anytime soon.
i didn't even get to say goodbye.
i don't deserve to.
i was not the best "human friend" that i should have been to him.
just a few days ago, ate heny and i were admiring a picture of him.
who would've thought?
