currently listening to: fly on the wall - miley cyrus
"don't you wish that you could be a fly on the wall?!"that song is awesome. 'nuff said.we're gonna have a quiz in chemistry tomorrow. too bad the topic is something i don't understand anymore. the internet's explanation is so much more complicated than what we were taught. or maybe it's always been that complicated. who knows? i sure as hell don't get it.
palihan today. same same in the community. nothing out of the ordinary happened which is such a shame. the one thing that changed was that the little boys weren't wrestling. i guess the fight-starters were absent today. a good thing, nonetheless. we saw horton hears a who in the grade school AVR. the movie is pretty funny. nice, uncomplicated plot. it felt like the whole time we were watching, my classmates were waiting for jesse mccartney's character to speak (Jojo). and when he did, they all screamed in girlish delight so they didn't hear his voice anyway. we even watched the closing credits just to see this: Jojo - Jesse McCartney. in the end, we didn't. haha. but it was still all good.
the movie Twilight is opening the theaters here today. i have a classmate who's gonna watch it today. that's so crazy because we have 5 quizzes tomorrow (which i have yet to study for). i'm planning on watching 3 movies in a day with a friend of mine. hope it pushes through. can't wait for the headaches.
i guess i really didn't get to tell you about my outbound trip. it was super fun. lots of walking and counting involved. after the first 3 lakes, the idea of counting our steps went out the window. the third lake took a staggering 720 steps. lemme tell you, they keep getting farther and farther and farther. the fun part was the mud. i had a bad stomach that day so i couldn't walk as fast as i could (i had to walk fast to keep up with the people in front of me. btw, mikka can be a champion power walker if she wanted). at one point, i couldn't see the people ahead of me so i picked up the pace. bad idea on a slippery path. my foot got stuck in the mud like vacuum twice. since no one was directly in front of me, i didn't know which parts of the path were soft (likely to swallow my foot up) or firm (good to step on). luckily for me, i had the people behind me helping me up whenever i fell down (they also laughed at me a lot).
shower time was...interesting. i forgot to bring a towel and a pair of slippers. i bought a pair from a roadside vendor. it's weird what people sell on the roadsides these days. the towel situation couldn't be helped so i made do with the face towel i brought. i guess i can officially say that i took a shower with 4 other girls. desperate times...desperate times.

crisis not over

currently listening to: i'll run - the cab
my sister is all annoyed downstairs because someone parked in her spot here in the village. we can't find the owner. she doesn't want to have to move it again later because she's taking my other sister's spot right now.
anyway, i was just doing my homework for
Filipino due tomorrow. we have to find someone who has a disability but was able to succeed anyway. naturally, i don't know anyone who fits that description except Apolinario Mabini. i asked my mom and she told me about Padacas. i did some research and that turned out to be a life saver. thanks, mom.
Grace Padacas is impressive. check out
her wikipedia page.
the
report cards were given out two days ago. my grades turned out really well. my chem lecture grade improved substantially, thank heavens. my computer also got a 7-point upgrade. yeah, men!! the only bad thing is my chem lab grade, which decreased by a point. and the biggest surprise of all...my algeb grade climbed up a notch. can't get it any better than that. :)
my school will have a
PAASCU accreditation this coming week. the school has had a lot of minor improvements. the changes have made stc look 10x better. hopefully, changes in my school don't have to be brought on by an accreditation board.
my class is going to have our
field trip on friday next week. it hasn't sunk in yet. what i mean is, i'm not feeling the excitement i normally associate with a field trip. hmm, i wonder why that is? could be the onslaught of homework we are expected to stay on top of.
our class was chosen to do the
magic show. frankly, i was hoping that the other class would get it. yes, i have more faith in them than in my own class. i guess that makes me...a traitor(?). IMO, the storyline we have right now is kinda weak. it needs extensive work before it fly with our audience (freshmen and sophomores).
finished the
chinese fan dance today (chinese!). it was all going really well until we got to the line performances. line one (sadly, that's my line) messed up the circle formation part. some veered to the right, some veered to the left. it was funny but i'm guessing that didn't do a lot for our grade.
the other palihan leaders officially launched the
PASKO drive. it was really successful. :)
happy birthday to aira, patplan, ms. gineta, and all the others. November seems to be the birthday month, eh.
that's it really. i just felt like blogging today :)

outbound education
Friday, January 26, 2007 9:58 PM
we had our outbound trip today. the assembly was 5:30 am and departure was at 6. i was so hurried this morning because ate ida was my ride to school. she can be very impatient at times. because of that, i forgot to bring my jacket and, would you believe, money! it was so cold in the morning but i didn't really need it for the rest of the day. the money wasn't that important either. there was a stopover where you could buy food if you didn't pack any. of course i didn't get to buy anything even if i wanted to. besides, i don't really need to buy food. there were plenty around. hehe. i was excited to take pictures because i'm really fond of cameras. daryll was forced to pose with me whenever i got bored. haha. it was fun anyway. there was one shot where i think i look amazing! look at this:

hehe. i can't say the same for daryll though. in her defense, she looks great in other pictures while i look terrible. our first stop was Barasoain church. its where the Philippines' first constitution was made. we also saw a lights and sounds show there. we also went to Biak na Bato. its a series of caves that the Katipuneros used to plan, recruit and other things. the first cave is called yungib I or ambush cave. the counselors (kuya jan and kuya sam) told us that a lot of people died there so it was only fitting that we pray for them. they made us turn off our flashlights (it was really dark! you can't see anything without them on). we had to hold hands and follow a chant offered to bathala. when kuya jan made a sort of noise, we laughed but we followed him anyway. then he told us to take this seriously and so we did. we kept on repeating there sounds. pretty soon, kuya jan's voice broke like he was trying to stop from laughing. turns out it was all a joke to calm our nerves. sheesh. we were really scared. the cave looks something like this:
the rest of the caves are yungib II or pagamutan, yungib III or imbakan and yungib IV/ aguinaldo's cave/tanggapan. after that, we changed locations and went to the national park of biak na bato. i think we walked for about 2km when we finally reached the bat cave. we didn't see any real bats but their smell was definitely there. we couldn't go inside the main cave, we just stayed on the view deck because a storm, earthquakes, and other things like that ruined the entrance of the cave which makes it hard to enter. we also did the river wading. its just crossing the lower-than-a-kiddie-pool river. the water felt nice because it was cold and our feet were worn out from all the walking. it gave it a chance to cool. after that we went to see this big dao tree which has a flat, wide trunk. weird, huh? while we did that, 5 of our classmates rappelled (sp?). i wanted to rappel (sp?) but i wasn't picked in the 'draw lots'. we had to cross another river. this time it was a little deeper. we were having fun then someone starts to splash water. pretty soon, everyone was splashing water! it was so much fun! just look: ( i can't upload it for some reason) after that, it was off to a resort to clean up and dress in clean, dry clothes. i was one of the first to get in a shower. i cleaned up in the men's shower area which was named 'andres'. i didn't even check the girl's shower area anymore which was named 'gabriela'. after that it was time to go home. everyone practically screamed their love for kuya jan. he was easy on the eyes. plus he was a lasallista. hehe. that was probably major pogi points. anyway, everyone blatantly took pictures of him. i think he's a deejay. i can't be sure. he has a good voice kasi. =) all in all, i had fun during our outbound! =)
