on board
Monday, June 7, 2010 9:02 PM
hey! just a quick post before i get ready for my FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL TOMORROW. let's see. i don't know what i'm going to wear yet and i don't even know how to get to my first class. frankly, every moment i spend not solving those problems makes me extremely anxious. but forget about that for a moment as i share what happened today.
i had to wake up at 5:30 so i could leave the house by 7. i really didn't want to be late for the orientation. (as a matter of fact, i don't ever want to be late for anything ever) i got up at that unholy hour because it was my first time to go to UP all by myself via jeepney rides and i had to give myself a lot of time to learn the route. i had to make time for the slip-ups that would undoubtedly happen to me. and this is what i have to say about that journey:
seriously. it wasn't without its embarrassing moments and lots of looking around wondering where that jeep to UP was but it went rather smoothly for a first time. i guess that's what you get for planning ahead. i got to the building at around 7:30 AM, just in time for the beginning of registration.
so the first activity was HUMAN BINGO. as the hosts said, bagong bago yung game, grabe. i didn't finish mine because i really didn't have the balls to go up to someone and say they're my crush. :))
after that, it was all about the different BA organizations. another game ensued, a treasure hunt for blue and gold foil triangles scattered around the BA building. our block lost spectacularly since we didn't go with the divide and conquer approach. what else happened? all of us were asked to consult with our student council "buddy". whaddayaknow? my buddy was nowhere in sight. i did find the other people who were under his group and we kind of just stood awkwardly together, waiting for something to happen. so many gay babies were born from that.
so the final part of the orientation was the Block Acquaintance Party. to be honest, it sounds so much cooler than what really happened. but it was fun, nonetheless. everybody was just extremely friendly and outgoing and i guess you really need to be like that in college if you wanna make the most of it.
that concludes the CBA freshman orientation. i was really impressed with their freshie kit. it really shows how much effort they've put into this. :D
okay. see ya!

what's going on?
Friday, June 4, 2010 12:59 PM
i think i'm losing the will to live.
my IV1 classmates are going to trinoma today to watch movies and hang out. for some reason, i can't find enough motivation to join them. my life sucks. i could list a few reasons, surely. but i happen to know that when there's a will, there's a way. here are some of my excuses:
- there's no water going up. something is wrong with maynilad, obviously. how am i supposed to take a shower?
- no one can drive me around. lamest excuse evaaar. of course i can commute. i just don't want to.
- i don't know what to wear. i hardly ever know what to wear. i have a closet full of nothing to wear. this is a result of my not going out. that is why it takes me forever to get dressed.
- i'm starting college in 2 days. 2 DAYS. i don't even have an outfit yet.
- i'm late already. they said 12 PM. it's 12:47 PM now.
- some of my friends aren't going. that might make it less fun.
- I'VE LOST THE WILL TO LIVE. I'VE LOST IT. I SIMPLY EXIST. AND EAT.
SHIT. SOMEONE NEEDS TO TAKE OVER MY LIFE.

another day of utter sh*t
Sunday, May 30, 2010 10:13 PM
i'm just kidding! today wasn't really utter shit. at least it was better than yesterday - a day of utter shit.
there's not really that much going on. i've abandoned the treadmill but i plan to get back on it tomorrow. in a little more than a week, i'll be having my first day of college. can't go around looking fat. i've decided to really stick to it this time and be prepared. my first experience taught me a lot (plus i finally read some tips on the internet). also, i've been snacking on junk food like crazy because that's what i do when i have nothing to do. that and watch TV. i've discovered this show on velvet called make it or break it and i really like watching it. at least it's not set in some high school like 10 things i hate about you (which i tried really hard to like, but i ended up liking 90210 more. go figure.)
after going to mass, my mom and i went out for dinner at luk foo (it's awesome having a really good chinese restaurant within walking distance from our house) because she says she's too tired to cook. she called it our reward for being "help"-less for the past week. as in, we don't have a helper here in the house. it's hard because there's no one to wash the dishes, feed the pets, clean up after the pets, keep the floors clean, etc. those things that i took for granted because i never really had to do them. it's a reward dinner because my mom has managed to make me do those things (with her nagging) and i've managed to do them (with a lot of grumbling). you see, our helper's baby got really sick (she said it might be dengue) so my mom let her go home last sunday. the thing is, she said she would return on monday, and she never did. we got one text from her (since she doesn't have a cellphone or a landline) that said that no one was around to watch her kids. it's really terrible because we've gotten used to her and she was becoming a real asset to the day to day activities here in the house.
oh well. mom hired a part-time helper for now, just to keep the house clean. sheesh. a'ight. i gotta go. gotta have some "me" time. (rolls eyes)

working out

currently listening to: we'll be alright - travis mccoy
so, hey! i said i would post more so here i am. i even logged into blogger before i checked my tumblr which is a first for these past few months. today started out like my other days. check it out.
- wake up before lunchtime to the sound of the phone ringing. it's my mom telling me what to eat for lunch.
- when i start feeling hungry, i eat lunch.
- i watch tv. gotta check if there's anything good on HBO or star movies. watch some tv show if there's none.
- boot up the computer and surf the internet until dinner.
that sounds really bad but i guess that's how life is for me. i'm home alone most of the time and i don't have a lot to do. i usually just eat and eat and eat.
that got me thinking. how am i supposed to look good in any of my clothes if i'm fat? so after watching cadillac records on HBO, i decided to lay off the nissin chocolate wafers for a while and go use our treadmill machine. the computer thing on our treadmill machine is broken because it was attacked by ondoy. but it still works, you just don't get any of the stats like how far you're going or your speed or how many calories you've burned. i decided to just put some running shoes on, crank up my ipod and start running. bad idea. the treadmill was inclined and i don't think that's good for someone who's just starting out. i would have fixed it but i didn't know how to do it manually. so i say to myself, run for an hour then do it again tomorrow.
i lasted for less than 30 minutes. halfway through i was dripping with sweat (i didn't have a towel with me and i was too lazy to go up to my room to get one. after all, i was on a roll.) and the music coming out of my ipod wasn't jiving with the high energy i needed to finish the whole hour.
so i've decided to just google some tips for a treadmill workout and make a playlist that's full of upbeat songs. there. i'll try again tomorrow.
but right now, let me be sad for missing 3/4 of the latest episode of glee on ETC. the only thing that makes me kind of happy right now is it's the finale of american idol in less than an hour. booyah!
*i just ate a cinnamon roll and half a bottle of pringles. good thing i worked out today :))

hi again

currently listening to: on to the next one - jay-z
hey! it's been a while since i wrote on this blog. all i do on the internet lately is reblog stuff on tumblr. it's crazy. i remember a time when i said that my tumblr account would be for posting pictures that i don't think is relevant to the purpose of this blog. and now, my tumblr has taken over my whole life. i don't mind that much though since i don't have too much to write. my life is that boring.
so the last post ended with my enrollment for college. let's continue with celebrations now because there was a lot of that going on.
MOTHER'S DAY. to celebrate this hallmark holiday, my sister and i got our mom a cake. it's just the two of us this time so we didn't get to do much. we actually celebrated it on the 8th since ate ida had to go on duty at the medical city. i also made my mom a card/poster thing that i put op on the hallway mirror so everyone would see :D
SAM'S 17TH. ahhh! sam's birthday. on the day itself, i just greeted her through text since i wouldn't be able to see her that day. the next day was where the real celebration began because we went to trinoma for the partay. so the movie we saw was nightmare on elm street (after much debate between that and miley cyrus' the last song). the movie itself wasn't scary. it was the suspense that had me covering my eyes halfway. after that we ate at taco bell. while we were waiting for the food to arrive, koko, daryll, and i snuck out saying we were headed to the bathroom while we got sam a cake at red ribbon. we just joined forces because the three of us didn't get her a birthday gift. (sorry, sam! i wanted to get her this shirt that had the word LONDON written on it in bold. the lettering was a loud neon green. but i decided against it because the style of the shirt had this wraparound thingy on it and it just didn't look good) anyway, here's what we had written on it:
Oreo Cheesecake
(i totally effed up on editing the "AND" part. the "LIVE" part also looks like it was taken under different lighting. haha. i'm too lazy to fix both.)
sam is a big star trek fan after all (the movie not the series, as i've heard her say once). when koko and i were discussing what we wanted the inscription to be, i suggested "every day you grow older, but today you get a cake". in the fashion of 500 days of summer. but it would have been too long to put on a cake so my next suggestion was "i am your father". it didn't really make sense. XD i just figured sam would appreciate it since she's also a star wars fan (she's so geeky. haha. not really). belay caight up with us and we just walked around the mall. sam showed us this adidas hoodie that had a star wars design that we're gonna get when we all come up with 500 bucks. we wanted it to be like a sisterhood of traveling pants type of thing where each one of us gets it for two months a year. i believe it was this one:
i have 500 bucks already guys! :)) let's get it!
ATE IDA'S 27TH. so after sam's party, i had to get ready for dinner out with my family to celebrate ate ida's birthday at this restaurant in tomas morato. we went to yakimix, this new teppanyaki restaurant that offers japanese and korean cuisine. i had fun cooking the food and all that. we even saw polo ravales in there with his girlfriend. is he even in showbiz anymore? my dad was really annoyed at this one guy who keeps cleaning out the lobster every time they refill it. so rude. some respect for the other people who want to eat lobster too! jeezus. i checked out the reviews on the restaurant beforehand and it was really mixed. some enjoyed themselves and promised to return while others swore it was the worst dining experience they've ever had. i liked the restaurant though and i'd recommend it. we probably won't be going back anytime soon because my mom really doesn't like to go to buffet restaurants any more.
flipping the food with the birthday girl :)
so that's it really. the rest of my days have been super boring and very routine. i was wrong you know when i said driving with my dad was the most stressful thing i've ever experienced. turns out, driving with my sister is 10x that stress. every move i make is scrutinized in a very bitchy manner. i hope she loosens up next time. i really dread having to drive with her in the car. *shudders*
13 days to go until college starts. but i heard on the news that deped is pushing the start of classes of public schools to the 15th. i wonder if that affects my school. but then again, it's CHED that has the final word on that now....i think.
a'ight. g'night. i'll try to blog more often and tumb'l less. :)
