HAPPY DAYS!!!!!!!!! and the exams...
Thursday, December 21, 2006 6:22 PM
last december 18 was the anniversary of my parents. i don't know how many years though. how horrible am i? anyway, i went to school...ordinary day. nothing special. just preparing for the exams the following day. the morning announcements were exceptionally long. turn out they were gonna announce the winner of the photo essay contest. whaddaya know? sam and arianne won! cheers for our section! they were in second place...i think i can't remember...they were the first ones called so...figure it out. but that wasn't the higlight of it all. after the announcements of all the photo essay contest winners, i thought they'l say, 'good morning theresians, you may now enter you classroom'. but that is so not what happened. they were gonna announce the winners of the essay writing contest. daryll got all excited because she has been waiting for this for weeks. i knew that i wasn't gonna win. how ridiculous, right? so ms.... starts announcing the winners. i believe her (maybe not so) exact words were: (let me put this in dialogue form)
school: noise
ms: girls please! we are acknowledging future writers here!
.... school hushes up...
ms: the 5th place winner is from the first year! (the first years look around excitedly) her essay is entitled "A Filipino Christmas" (i was thinking...hey! that was the title of MY ESSAY! i looked around wildly at everyone) and it is by Alcancia (she pronounced it like alkansya), Andrea!
EHMAGAWD! ARE YOU SERIOUS??? THAT WAS THE BEST! HOW GREAT IS IT TO BE ACKNOWLEGED AS A "FUTURE WRITER" IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE SCHOOL??
and i was the only essay writer in first year who won! ahhh! its 5th place but still. i can tell daryll was totally disappointed though. she kept giving me fake smiles. btw, my classmates cheered wildly for me. after all, 3 of their classmates won in the competitions they entered. i knew daryll wanted to win. it was her first competition in essay writing. i know she wanted to make her parents proud because darwin (her brother) made them proud by winning in his school's elocution contest. i felt bad for her. she actually wanted it. i'm not saying i don't want it but it was completely unexpected. it probably didnt hurt my chances that i was in the creative writing SINAG during grade school. i definitely picked some things up. everybody kept congratulating me. so kewl!
we also had exams this week. it was killer. but the vacation is finally here! HOORAY! go CHRISTMAS MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYBODY!
=)))))))))))))))))
